LEARN FROM THE WORLD CHAMPIONS!
As Italy prepare to defend their World Cup title in the summer of next year, their national coaches association are getting ready to come to NJ and share the philosophies and coaching techniques that won them the World Cup. The trip is headed up by the President of the Italian Coaches Association (AIAC) Mr. Renzo Ulivieri.
Mr Ulivieri has a long and prestigious soccer career at the elite levels, both on the field as a player and them as a coach. He played for youth academy of Italian superclub Fiorentina, before playing for Serie C team Cuoiopelli. After his playing days he coached a number of amateur teams to learn his trade before graduating to his first professional coaching role with the FIorentina youth academy. One of his biggest coaching successes came when he got Bologna promoted from C1 to the world famous Serie A in consecutive years. During his 43 years in the Italian professional game he has served as head coach for World famous clubs such as Fiorentina, Sampdoria, Napoli, Fiorentina, and Parma where he replaced Arrigo Sacchi and achieved qualification for the UEFA Champions League.
Mr Ulivieri's career coaching honors include;
- Promotion to Serie A as runners-up in Serie B - Sampdoria (1982)
- Promotion to Serie B - Vicenza (1993)
- Promotion to Serie B - Bologna (1995)
- Serie B Champions - Bologna (1996)
- UEFA Intertoto Cup Winner - Bologna (1998)
- Coppa Italia Runner Up - Parma (2001)
- UEFA Champions League Qualification - Parma (2001)
He has coached players who have went on to represent their national teams including World-Cup winners, and such legendary players as;
- Paolo Rossi - World Cup 1982 winner and leading goal scorer with Italy. 48 caps for Italy.
- Roberto Mancini - Italian league winner, 4 time Coppa Italia winner, European Cup finalist. 36 caps for Italy.
- Trevor Francis - 2-time European Cup winner in 1979 and 1980, Francis scored the winning goal in the 1979 final. 52 caps for England.
- Liam Brady - 2-time Serie A winner. 72 caps for the Republic of Ireland
Mr Ulivieri and staff are now coming to NJ to share the philosophies and coaching techniques that made him successful. You can learn from one of the great soccer mind's ever to visit NJ and also receive official AIAC certifications that work toward a full Italian Coaching License. That specific class will be offered in February/March 2010 with locations to be announced.
Prior to his appearance in March, a contingent of staff will holding a series of one day classes in West Orange, NJ on November 30, December 2 and Thursday December 3, 2009.
