PREMIER SOCCER GROUP: WINTER SELECT 09/10
Mission:
PSG Select, Premier Soccer Group are proud to announce the new PSG Winter Select program.
The program will focus on offering high level soccer training to aid the development of the elite level soccer player. PSG prides itself on the level of training the players receive. During the Winter program players will receive 10 weekly training sessions. The training will give players an opportunity to express themselves in game situations, specific emphasis will be placed on technical development including the importance of ball control, attacking at speed and decision making under pressure.
Each player will also have the opportunity to participate in at least 4 elite level indoor tournaments. We believe with the combination of challenging soccer tournaments and the exciting training environement through the winter we offer the ideal environment to really progress within the sport.
SETUP
The WINTER SELECT is supplemental to any current travel team commitment you may have year round. The practices begin in December 09 and tournament play concludes in time for the spring season begins. PSG WINTER SELECT is NOT a club team, any player who excels in the program and displays a positive mentality will have the opportunity to graduate into the summer select program. WINTER SELECT league is for the U9-U14 age groups.
CURRICULUM
The WINTER SELECT is exclusively for the younger age groups, and thus a heavy emphasis is placed on the fundamentals of the game. We do not see this purely as ball skills like some others, rather what we believe to be crucial to the development of an all round player;

· Passing
· Movement
· Decision making
· Defending
Sessions are technically based but all above factors are included and the intention and aim is for all field work in practice to show through on gameday.
PRACTICE LOGISTICS
Winter teams will practice once a week for 60 minutes (U9 thru U10) 90 minute (U11+) each session. Sessions of the week will follow a similar topics and the coaching points will carry through and be the main focus during tournament play.
Sessions will take place at West Orange Armory.

PSG Has hand picked staff from across the globe adding an international feel to our coaching product. We strive to recruit international coaches and students of soccer who understand the ongoing development of modern day athletes, yet have the teaching experience and sport psychology background to deliver a positive learning environment that ensures ongoing player development.
Tryout Format
It is free to tryout for the PSG Winter Select and each player will receive an individual tryout report card giving feed back on individual player performance and developmental support.
